Job Title: Optical System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical System Engineer to join our team at Info Way Solutions LLC. As an Optical System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and performance quantification of imaging optical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specify optical metrology systems and key components, including lenses, optical relays, image sensing modules, photodetectors, and light sources.
  • Derive optical metrology instruments' quantified requirements through analytics, numerical modeling, and bench-top testing.
  • Lead optical instrument vendors for customization when needed and validate and qualify instrument performance to meet mass production requirements.
  • Define calibration and measurement engineering requirement specifications (ERS) for optical instruments and automated systems.
  • Conduct hardware/software validation and failure analysis for optical metrology systems.
  • Analyze large amounts of lab data and NPI data for validation, failure analysis, and improvement purposes.
  • Provide crisp and rigorous presentations and reports on optical metrology systems and communicate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
  • Thorough understanding and experience in imaging optical system design, modeling, and performance quantification.
  • Proficiency in one or more optical modeling tools for imaging optics, such as Zemax, LightTools, etc.
  • Fast learner with a proven foundation in imaging optics, imaging sensors, illumination, and opto-mechanics.
  • Strong analytical model building and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong quantitative data analysis abilities using JMP, Matlab, or equivalent tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in OCT, LIDAR, microscopy, AR/VR display, wavefront metrology, and optical grating.
