STATEMENT OF DUTIES

General Overview:
This role involves supporting the initiative established under Colorado Senate Bill aimed at promoting awareness of judicial office vacancies and developing educational programs about the judicial application process.

Key Distinctions:
This position is uniquely characterized by its focus on the Judicial Officer Outreach program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Facilitate the administration of programs that educate potential candidates about the judicial officer application process, aiming to clarify and simplify the experience.

- Assist in attracting and maintaining a diverse and extensive pool of candidates for judicial officer roles across Colorado.

- Collaborate with various stakeholder groups to inspire law students and attorneys to pursue careers on the judicial bench.

- Support the maintenance of internship programs that offer valuable experiences for attorneys and law students interested in the judicial system.

- Work alongside current Judicial Officers and other stakeholders to uphold mentorship programs for newly appointed Judicial Officers, promoting their long-term success.

- Aid in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical data related to the Judicial Officer Outreach program, including applicant demographics and recruitment efforts.

- Contribute to the preparation of the annual report for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Judiciary Committees, detailing the qualifications and professional backgrounds of Judicial Officers in the state.

- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required, and participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the quality of one’s own work and may provide guidance or mentorship to less experienced colleagues, volunteers, or interns, which may include scheduling tasks, instructing on work methods, and reviewing outputs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and five years of experience in statistical analysis, outreach methodologies, program planning, or related fields.

OR
Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.

Experience in recruitment or outreach within the legal sector is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. The employee frequently needs to sit, reach with hands and arms, and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand and walk, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This role is typically free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards, primarily situated in an office setting.
