Position Overview

Under general oversight, the Medical Lab Technician conducts standard examinations in a clinical laboratory setting to generate data crucial for diagnosing and treating illnesses, ensuring the reliability and precision of test outcomes. Responsibilities include processing samples for analysis and distribution. The technician is also tasked with maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment while performing various administrative duties to support laboratory personnel.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Work Environment:
  • Tasks are performed in an environment that may present health risks, including exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Extended periods of standing and moderate walking are required.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly shifting priorities may occur, necessitating conflict resolution skills.
  • Clear communication is essential for performing key functions.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Possession of a Medical Laboratory Technician Certification.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Experience working in a diverse team environment.
