POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Real Estate Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a range of commercial property transactions. This position requires effective collaboration with both internal teams and external partners to guarantee the precise and timely preparation of loan documentation, adherence to regulatory standards, and smooth workflow management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and secure necessary documentation for commercial real estate loans, ensuring compliance with all relevant banking, state, and federal regulations. Engage in compliance assessments of new and existing real estate regulations, maintaining adherence to BSA-AML, HMDA, TILA-RESPA, Fair Lending, and other applicable laws. Maintain comprehensive real estate loan records within the designated system, including document imaging and tracking updates.
  • Coordination of Loan Closings: Facilitate the closing process for loans by coordinating with all parties involved in real estate transactions. Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate closing and funding processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Conduct quarterly HMDA reviews, manage annual property tax payments, and perform escrow account analyses in line with state and federal regulations. Oversee the processing of real estate loans that have been paid, denied, or withdrawn, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all interactions with both internal and external clients are prompt, courteous, and professional.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Uphold compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as internal bank policies, particularly concerning BSA-AML.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loan Status Updates: Keep lenders informed regarding the status of their loans, providing timely updates and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Participation in Meetings: Attend departmental and organizational meetings, contributing to broader company initiatives and decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in commercial real estate mortgage processing.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with RESPA regulations and a general understanding of mortgage and consumer lending regulations, including HMDA, RESPA, Regulation Z, and Regulation B.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong proficiency in mathematics, with the ability to perform calculations accurately.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to address complex issues and make informed decisions.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented with effective prioritization skills.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Typing Skills: Ability to type and use 10-key by touch.
  • Credit Standing: Must have good credit standing.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant software systems.
  • Banking Knowledge: Understanding of banking procedures and compliance regulations related to real estate lending.
