Job Summary:

The Sales Associate will assist customers with purchasing merchandise, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets and interacts with customers, building rapport and understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Consults with customers to recommend products and services, providing expert knowledge and advice.
  • Processes sales transactions accurately and efficiently, using cash registers and other equipment.
  • Assists customers with returns and exchanges, resolving issues and providing solutions.
  • Maintains a clean and organized store environment, restocking shelves and assisting with housekeeping.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, supporting the sales team and contributing to the success of the store.
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • The ability to operate cash registers, scanners, and other equipment, with basic mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of building products and local building codes, with the ability to provide expert advice and guidance to customers.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of on-the-job training and completion of levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on the computer or related equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times, and occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds.
  • May need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
