The UGS division provides essential support to clients regarding subsurface geological and engineering requirements for the design, development, maintenance, and operation of underground storage facilities, including salt caverns, depleted reservoirs, and disposal wells.

Your Contributions
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients
  • Generate business opportunities from new clientele
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients
  • Boost revenue from current client accounts
  • Conduct client visits, including business meals
  • Align business development initiatives with UGS project teams
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Evaluate bid packages and negotiate pricing
  • Establish connections with vendors
  • Deliver presentations to clients
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and site visits
  • Follow up with clients post-project completion
  • Attend industry conferences
  • Visit WSP project locations
  • Propose business development strategies to leadership

Essential Qualifications
  • Proficient in basic computer skills for communication and document preparation
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong skills in delivering presentations
  • In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas sector
  • Familiarity with production or injection well technologies
  • Self-motivated and a collaborative team player
  • Over 10 years of experience in business development or sales
  • Proficient in technical writing and proposal development
  • Understanding of cost estimation and scheduling
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Demonstrated ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP's health and safety policies
  • Successful completion of WSP's Motor Vehicle screening is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of salt caverns, gas storage, and disposal well operations
  • Established relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers in the underground storage sector
  • Experience in preparing cost proposals for well construction and maintenance
  • 15+ years of experience in business development or sales
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Published technical papers and conference presentations
