Will you be part of our journey? Responsibilities The Director of Business Development will establish, guide, and oversee business development initiatives for the Houston office, ensuring alignment with the regional strategy.

This role entails identifying and cultivating business growth and revenue opportunities while enhancing the visibility of the Page brand within the local market. The BD Director will collaborate closely with Office Leadership and the Regional BD Director. Additionally, the ideal candidate will mentor and develop Business Development Managers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients and partners across all market sectors and practice areas in the local area;
  • Formulate strategies for and engage in client and partner meetings alongside national market experts, regional leaders, and office management;
  • Act as a direct seller-doer and client account manager, evolving and managing the CRM pipeline while developing plans to convert leads into projects;
  • Assist in preparing materials for business development presentations and relationship-building efforts;
  • Maintain and grow a local network of reliable sources for information on current and prospective clients;
  • Conduct research on leads to assess their qualifications;
  • Analyze clients and future pursuits to build a robust pipeline;
  • Research and comprehend geographic and market sector trends in the local area;
  • Understand local competitive advantages to better position Page against competitors;
  • Collaborate with office leadership, the Regional BD Director, and seller-doers to create and implement annual business development plans targeting both existing and new clients to meet office sales objectives;
  • Regularly meet with Office leadership, Regional BD Director, Market Sector Experts, and Office Seller Doers to set sales goals, convert pipeline opportunities into projects, and direct BD and seller-doer activities, including industry engagement;
  • Guide, mentor, and coach Business Development Managers and Seller Doers on effective business development processes;
  • Advise on best practices for client engagement during the presell phase;
  • Work with Managing Directors and Market Sector Leaders to identify strategic hires and seller-doers to meet sales goals;
  • Track business development activities in CRM, generating comprehensive reports that summarize business development and marketing efforts in the office, including monthly pipeline reporting and win/loss analysis to inform future strategies;
  • Provide strategic insights during the Go/No Go process, collaborating with market sector experts and office leaders to ensure thorough evaluations for each pursuit;
  • Collaborate with market sector experts, office leaders, and pursuit teams to integrate BD/client intelligence into proposal and interview content;
  • Advise on proposal content decisions and review drafts;
  • Participate in local debriefs, documenting and sharing insights with relevant parties;
  • Communicate the Page narrative by understanding the firm's office, region, and sector capabilities, including industry insights and best practices;
  • Develop and implement a strategy for Page's involvement in local professional organizations, conferences, and events.

Qualifications: A degree in Architecture or a Bachelor's in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration is preferred; a minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the A/E/C industry with a proven record of success is required; demonstrated ability to generate revenue through new market growth, foster effective client relationships, and provide leadership in pursuits; exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently; existing knowledge of Page's market sectors across various firm locations.
