Key Responsibilities- Prepare Patient Rooms: Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and cleaned to provide a comfortable and safe environment for patients.
- Monitor Patient Communications: Receive and route patient phone calls, test results, and collect data on patient medications.
- Assess Patient Needs: Room patients, take vital signs, and assess patient needs to communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
- Support Healthcare Providers: Assist providers with patient procedures, communicate with patients and families, and complete routine forms as needed.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure chart documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Perform Lab Tests: Conduct lab tests as directed by providers, prepare specimens, and maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with CLIA standards and protocols.
- Reconcile Billing: Reconcile billing from offsite labs by comparing daily lab logs with patient EHR.
- Schedule Diagnostic Tests: Schedule offsite diagnostic tests and communicate effectively with patients.
- Facilitate Referrals: Facilitate referral processes for patients as needed.
- Manage Inventory: Take manual inventory of drugs and perform front office duties as needed.
- Education and Licensure: Bachelor's degree preferred; MA or LPN preferred; RN preferred; American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification required.
- Skills and Qualifications: Experience working in an ambulatory or outpatient setting preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to navigate Electronic Medical and Health Record (EMR, EHR) systems; strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
