Surgical Care Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Care Coordinator to join our team at Allina Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining systems essential to daily operations supporting patient care, including scheduling and coordinating appointments, procedures, and tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling: Schedules and/or reschedules patient appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, surgeries, hospital admissions, and other related appointments between multiple providers.
- Administrative Department Support: Provides department reception, patient check-in, and telephone coverage, routing messages accordingly.
- Chart Preparation: Analyzes patient records to determine if outside documents are needed, reviews patient consent forms, and ensures they are updated with the patient.
- Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Post-secondary education in a medical field is a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in a medical office, including administrative support, scheduling, customer service, and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and electronic medical records.
