POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Milling Machine Foreman to oversee our milling crew, ensuring quality control and efficient logistics while maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in milling operations and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. This role requires adaptability to various working conditions and schedules, including nights and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize equipment and labor utilization to maximize production efficiency.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to milling crew members.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project timelines.
  • Measure slopes and depths to verify adherence to project specifications.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Managers regarding scheduling and production requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Uphold safety standards by inspecting work environments and minimizing risks.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of milling machines after each shift.
  • Adhere to last-minute dispatch changes and maintain flexibility in scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in asphalt operations.
  • Dependable and flexible, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and under challenging weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt operations and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and navigate heavy machinery.
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions and around noise and dust.
  • Willingness to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work demands.
