Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Marketing and Communications plays a pivotal role in promoting the vision of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. This executive position is responsible for shaping the marketing strategy, enhancing brand positioning, and leading public relations initiatives. As a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, the SVP will oversee all external communication efforts, including marketing, media relations, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities

The SVP will provide strategic direction and oversight in the following critical areas:

  1. Developing branding and messaging strategies to enhance brand recognition and revenue across various programs.
  2. Increasing the visibility of Dallas Area Habitat as a leader in the Affordable Housing sector.
  3. Crafting impactful messaging to engage new and existing donors in collaboration with the Development Team.
  4. Leading a team of marketing professionals and managing relationships with external vendors and agencies.

Essential Functions

The SVP will:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of marketing initiatives that support business objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of significant events and seminars to enhance brand visibility and support fundraising efforts.
  • Develop engaging content across various platforms to attract and retain target audiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to secure positive coverage and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and customer insights to adapt marketing strategies effectively.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the success of marketing initiatives.
  • Align marketing efforts with the organization's strategic direction in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Manage marketing budgets and optimize resource allocation for maximum return on investment.
  • Promote a customer-focused approach in all marketing activities.

Continuous Improvement

The SVP will:

  • Identify and leverage digital marketplace trends to enhance marketing strategies.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in all marketing deliverables.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance campaign performance.
  • Work closely with teams to refine audience targeting and analyze campaign effectiveness.
  • Manage the marketing budget for optimal effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts with marketing vendors and oversee the procurement process.
  • Maintain a database of experts and promote these resources to media and influencers.
  • Supervise the Marketing Department staff and manage relationships with external agencies.
  • Coordinate company-wide events and activities through a collaborative calendar.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of successful experience in leading marketing and branding initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to develop revenue-driving strategies across various channels.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • At least eight years of experience in leading marketing efforts across various media.
  • Proven track record in driving process improvements and revenue growth.
  • Experience in marketing research and web content management.
