Job Overview

Position Title: Customer Service Representative / Teller

Salary: Competitive

ROLE

This role involves direct interaction with esteemed banking clients in a professional setting. The individual will undertake fundamental administrative, technical, and professional tasks within the retail division. Responsibilities include suggesting products and services to enhance the customer banking experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Customer Engagement

• Interact with clients in accordance with established service standards

• Develop lasting relationships to boost customer loyalty

• Recommend suitable products based on the client's financial profile

• Address customer inquiries by providing clear and knowledgeable assistance, escalating issues to appropriate team members when necessary

• Represent the bank positively within the community

• Provide essential business services to sole proprietorships and beneficial ownerships

• Manage the opening and maintenance of personal accounts for clients


Teller Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers with a friendly attitude

• Execute all payment and receipt functions as a teller

• Process checks, manage deposits, and handle various transactions including cash advances and gift cards

• Ensure a balanced cash drawer

• Support mail deposits and cash advance processes

• Address teller-related inquiries from incoming calls

• Adhere to attendance policies as outlined in the employee handbook


Sales Initiatives

• Uphold the bank's sales philosophy

• Generate additional business by promoting products and services to meet organizational objectives

• Participate in branch sales initiatives

• Collaborate with other retail sectors to capitalize on identified financial opportunities

• Maintain an analysis of customer needs and evaluate their overall financial requirements

• Follow up as necessary to present relevant products and services that align with customer financial goals


Relationship Development

• Initiate and sustain customer contact through various methods, including personal interactions, call activities, and community engagement

• Build and nurture professional relationships with internal departments to drive sales and referrals, ensuring customer satisfaction


Regulatory Compliance

• Adhere to all internal processes and protocols

• Collect necessary information and documentation for opening personal accounts

• Understand and apply the Business Customer Identification Program

• Comply with branch regulations and participate in required compliance training

• Follow bank security protocols

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Basic understanding of business services offered by Peoples Bank and Trust, knowledge of sole proprietorships, beneficial ownerships, and relevant policies and procedures
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2+ years of banking experience preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Attention to detail, ability to assess business operations to determine customer needs, strong written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation, problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and proficiency in multitasking


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate effectively
HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations in a standard office environment
REPETITIVE MOTION: Regular typing throughout the day
DEXTERITY: Regular use of hands for typing and using a mouse
VISION: Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
STRENGTH: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds unassisted and maintain various physical positions for extended periods


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Professional office environment with climate control and adequate lighting. Regular attendance on Saturdays is required.


MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to manage various variables with limited standardization
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY: Strong numerical skills; ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; communicate clearly
