Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wire Rope Specialist to join our team at Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing and inspecting wire rope assemblies on cranes up to 1100 tons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wire Rope Installation: Independently perform all duties necessary to install wire rope assemblies on cranes, adhering to company methods, standards, and work instructions.
  • Wire Rope Inspection: Survey and inspect all crane hoisting components for soundness, utilizing the safest and most efficient means possible.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Properly maintain all spooler units, spool trucks, and trailers, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Logistics and Administration: Maintain a commercial driver's license, accurately submit timesheets, and fill in daily time tickets for billing purposes.
  • Inventory Management: Count, record, and report inventory as required, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Quality Control: Perform all duties to established quality standards, reporting defective or substandard material supplies or products.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner, adhering to all safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred; trade school and/or military experience is a plus.
  • Commercial Driver's License: Must be willing to obtain a Class B CDL and maintain DOT physical requirements.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of crane industry experience is required, with extensive knowledge of wire rope constructions, discard criteria, installation processes, and procedures.
  • Skills: Must display safe work practices, be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds, and possess solid written and verbal communication skills.
