Industrial Buyer/Purchaser Overview
We are looking for an Industrial Buyer/Purchaser who will take charge of the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services essential for our offshore and marine projects.
This position requires collaboration with suppliers, internal departments, and project leaders to guarantee the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while upholding the highest quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Industrial Buyer/Purchaser- Assess and select potential suppliers and vendors to fulfill the company's needs for materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous conditions for the organization.
- Build and sustain a network of dependable suppliers to ensure a reliable and effective supply chain.
- Execute purchase orders for necessary materials and services, ensuring precise specifications and prompt delivery.
- Oversee order status, monitor shipments, and address any issues or delays with suppliers.
- Evaluate and compare supplier quotes to identify the best value for the organization.
- Manage procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial objectives and project budgets.
- Implement cost-reduction strategies and process enhancements to improve procurement efficiency.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to confirm adherence to quality standards and contractual commitments.
- Maintain accurate and current records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analyses, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and provide timely solutions.
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with the procurement of raw steel, rigging, wire ropes, coatings, and similar materials is essential.
