Night Auditor - AJS Hotels (Full-Time, Overnight)

Job Overview

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk during overnight hours. This position is responsible for the reconciliation of daily financial transactions and addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform balance reconciliations and finalize various daily accounts.
  • Address customer issues, complaints, and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Uphold the service standards and hallmark of AJS Hotels.
  • Facilitate the check-in and check-out process for guests.
  • Manage reservations, respond to phone inquiries, and provide directions as needed.
  • Reconcile nightly credit card transactions, room revenue, and occupancy rates.
  • Prepare nightly reports for department heads and conduct nightly computer backups.
  • Fulfill all duties of a guest service agent and PBX operator.
  • Ensure guest and associate satisfaction at all times.
  • Act as Front Office Manager or Manager on Duty as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Follow front office policies and procedures diligently.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Competencies

  • Familiarity with Opera software.
  • Ability to multitask and manage a heavy workload effectively under pressure.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with guests in a friendly manner.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.

  • Availability to meet the demands of the business, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in hotel night auditing and hospitality preferred.
  • Experience with spreadsheets is required.
  • Familiarity with Opera software is preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates within the hotel front office, requiring interaction in a guest service setting. The role involves various physical activities, including operating office equipment, writing, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Physical Demands

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position, with expectations to work necessary hours to meet business needs during front desk operations.
