Night Auditor - AJS Hotels (Full-Time, Overnight)

Job Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for the reconciliation of daily financial transactions and ensuring smooth operations during the overnight shift. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing balance reconciliations and closing various daily accounts.
  • Addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Checking guests in and out of the hotel with professionalism.
  • Managing reservations, handling phone calls, and providing directions as needed.
  • Balancing nightly credit card transactions, room revenue, and occupancy rates.
  • Preparing nightly reports for department heads and conducting nightly computer backups.
  • Executing all duties of a guest service agent and PBX operator.
  • Ensuring satisfaction for both guests and associates.
  • Acting as Front Office Manager or Manager on Duty as required.
  • Completing any additional duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of the local area to recommend entertainment options.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Education & Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in hotel night auditing and hospitality is preferred, along with proficiency in spreadsheets and familiarity with Opera software.

Work Environment

This position operates within the hotel front office, requiring interaction in a guest service setting. The role involves finger dexterity for office equipment operation, along with standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Physical Demands

Employees must meet the physical demands of the job, including talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with expectations to work necessary hours to meet business needs during front desk operations.
