Job Overview

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk during overnight hours. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing balance reconciliations and closing various daily accounts.

  • Managing guest check-ins and check-outs effectively.
  • Handling reservations, responding to phone calls, and providing directions as needed.
  • Balancing nightly credit card transactions, room revenue, and occupancy rates.
  • Preparing nightly reports for department heads.
  • Conducting nightly computer backups.
  • Executing all duties of a guest service agent and PBX operator.
  • Ensuring satisfaction for both guests and associates.
  • Assuming the role of Front Office Manager or Manager on Duty as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience with spreadsheets is required.
  • Familiarity with Opera software is preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates within the hotel front office, requiring engagement in a guest service setting. The role necessitates finger dexterity for operating office equipment, along with standing, sitting, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular communication is required, along with the ability to operate office equipment and perform tasks involving repetitive motion.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position, with expectations to work necessary hours to meet business needs during front desk operations.
