Position Overview:

The Perioperative Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing patient care and operational activities within the unit. This role involves collaborating with management to align with organizational goals and initiatives. The manager is accountable for clinical and administrative leadership, performance improvement, and the professional development of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead patient care initiatives, ensuring adherence to established standards and delivering safe, effective, and appropriate care.
  2. Maintain continuous oversight of unit operations, ensuring 24/7 availability.
  3. Manage hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions for nursing staff, fostering leadership skills among team members.
  4. Develop unit objectives in line with the organization's mission, collaborating with management on strategic planning.
  5. Assess patient satisfaction and implement necessary improvements.
  6. Oversee budgetary planning and management, ensuring effective use of resources.
  7. Promote a culture of performance improvement, identifying and evaluating processes for better outcomes.
  8. Create and manage staffing plans, ensuring optimal resource allocation and productivity.
  9. Monitor staff recruitment, retention, and recognition, implementing initiatives for improvement.
  10. Facilitate cooperative programs with other departments to support corporate objectives.
  11. Establish interdisciplinary care models in collaboration with medical directors and other professionals.
  12. Represent management in grievance procedures as necessary.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Current RN License.

Must possess 4 or more years of recent experience in the designated clinical area, with evidence of ongoing education.

Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field.

Certifications: BLS (HCP) certification required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, TNCC, and IV certification are preferred based on clinical area.

Working Conditions:

Essential manual skills and coordination are required, with the ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force. The role may involve exposure to various environmental factors.
