Position Overview:
The Perioperative Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing patient care and operational activities within the surgical unit. This role involves strategic collaboration with management to align with organizational objectives, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and effective leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead patient care initiatives, establishing standards of care and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services.
- Maintain continuous oversight of unit operations, ensuring readiness and compliance 24/7.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, fostering a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
- Develop and implement unit goals that align with the broader mission of the organization, actively participating in strategic planning.
- Assess patient satisfaction and initiate quality improvement measures as necessary.
- Oversee budgetary planning and management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource allocation.
- Promote a culture of performance improvement, identifying opportunities for enhancement and tracking outcomes.
- Design and maintain a staffing plan that meets the needs of the unit while ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Monitor staff retention and recognition efforts, implementing strategies to address turnover and enhance workplace climate.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive operations that support organizational goals.
- Work with medical leadership to establish interdisciplinary care models that enhance patient outcomes.
- Act as a representative in grievance procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Fulfill all compliance obligations associated with the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in nursing. Current RN license.
Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and specialty certifications are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
Position requires significant manual dexterity and the ability to exert physical effort. Exposure to various environmental factors is expected.
