Job Overview

HarmonyTech, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable professional with expertise in Section 508 Accessibility and proven experience in the remediation of multimedia content, including video, audio, and web materials. This role is crucial for the development of compliant and accessible products tailored to meet the needs of federal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and produce digital instructional materials that comply with accessibility standards, identifying and addressing barriers to ensure accessibility.
  • Assess the accessibility of instructional technology tools and software, providing recommendations for best practices.
  • Interpret and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations regarding disability access.
  • Conduct accessibility analysis, documentation, and remediation for digital learning experiences.
  • Implement standards and regulations related to accessibility, including WCAG 2.0, Section 508, WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG.
  • Review and develop documents that comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Organize and analyze information to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
  • Collaborate with government personnel to determine the necessary methods and resources for product development.
  • Propose solutions or alternative practices and suggest new systems or procedures.
  • Review and refine correspondence, curriculum, and programmatic documents, providing management with recommendations through reports and presentations.
  • Conduct compliance scans of current and future documents, web content, and applications to ensure 508 compliance.
  • Act as a consultant across various divisions within the organization.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience as an IT system accessibility tester or consultant.
  • Proven experience in ensuring 508 compliance across a diverse range of products, including multimedia outreach materials and presentation graphics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Section 508 compliance assessment, design, testing, and remediation of multimedia content.
  • Familiarity with standards such as WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and its built-in accessibility features.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools such as WAVE, CCA, and Accessibility Insights is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) or Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), are beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accessibility compliance projects effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
