Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and create digital instructional resources that meet accessibility standards, identifying and mitigating barriers to accessibility.
- Assess the accessibility of educational technology tools and software, providing best practice recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations regarding disability compliance.
- Conduct accessibility analysis and documentation for digital learning experiences.
- Implement standards and regulations related to accessibility, including WCAG 2.0, Section 508, WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG.
- Review and produce documentation in compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and other relevant legislation.
- Organize and analyze information to address challenges and enhance processes.
- Collaborate with government personnel to determine resources and methods for product development.
- Propose innovative solutions and recommend new systems or procedures.
- Edit and review various documents, providing management with actionable insights through reports and presentations.
- Conduct random and requested scans of documents, web content, and applications to ensure 508 compliance.
- Act as a consultant across different divisions within the organization.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in IT system accessibility testing or consulting.
- Experience ensuring 508 compliance across a variety of products, including multimedia outreach materials and presentation decks.
- Demonstrated expertise in Section 508 compliance assessment, design, testing, and remediation of multimedia content.
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG standards is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and its built-in accessibility features.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous.
- Knowledge of accessibility tools such as WAVE, CCA, and Accessibility Insights is a plus.
- Relevant certifications, such as Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) or Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), are preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple accessibility compliance projects while meeting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
