Position Summary: This role primarily focuses on our Energy Systems division, which encompasses telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities, switchgear, security, emergency lighting, and general electronics. Our diverse range of reserve power brands, including PowerSafe, DataSafe, and Genesis, consistently delivers the most effective, powerful, and reliable battery solutions available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the procurement of materials, services, and equipment for the designated purchasing portfolio, adhering to established procurement policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure a seamless and timely supply of goods at optimal costs while meeting specifications.
  • Review customer orders daily and evaluate purchase requisitions for the most suitable procurement methods.
  • Engage with potential vendors, conduct reference checks, and assess quotations.
  • Verify the accuracy of purchase orders and requisitions, converting requisitions into purchase orders as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain priorities for assigned commodities with key suppliers.
  • Maintain effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate with all levels of management to enhance procurement processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs associated with assigned commodities.
  • Work closely with the engineering department to assist in sourcing materials, focusing on cost, quality, and availability.
  • Generate reports that measure key performance metrics for buyers.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in software applications, including MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of foreign languages is advantageous; proficiency in English is essential.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of manufacturing environments and material costing.
  • Experience in market analysis and supplier relationship management.
  • A college degree in business or a related field is preferred.
