Position Purpose: The Buyer II will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, services, and equipment within the designated purchasing portfolio. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless supply chain while adhering to established procurement policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer orders on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and fulfillment.
- Engage with potential suppliers, conduct reference checks, and assess quotations to determine the most suitable procurement methods.
- Verify purchase orders for precision and compliance.
- Transform purchase requisitions into purchase orders while maintaining accuracy.
- Prioritize assigned commodities in collaboration with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with various management levels to streamline procurement processes.
- Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs associated with assigned commodities.
- Work closely with the engineering department to source materials based on cost, quality, and availability.
- Generate performance reports that measure key buyer metrics.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-3+ years of experience in a similar procurement role.
- High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in software applications, including MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of foreign languages is advantageous; English proficiency is essential.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with strong decision-making capabilities.
- Able to meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and material costing.
- Experience in market analysis and supplier relationship management.
- A degree in business or a related field is preferred.
