Job Overview

Position Summary: The Engagement Specialist for Community Services will engage with a diverse array of key external stakeholders and internal personnel across all organizational levels. This role is tasked with providing administrative support for a comprehensive and thoughtfully crafted initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of foster children within our community.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative experience, or a suitable combination of experience and education.

Experience: At least two years of experience in social services, education, or behavioral health, with a solid understanding of the child welfare system preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at supporting various constituency groups, including neighborhood representatives, state and local government officials, foster parents, and community collaborators. Experience in non-profit or governmental settings is advantageous. Proven track record in community engagement within a dynamic and rapidly evolving organization is essential. Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills, along with editorial proficiency, are required. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and organizational capabilities. Proficiency in various computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools, is necessary.

Functional Responsibilities: The Community Outreach Coordinator will cultivate and maintain vital external and internal relationships while establishing processes to effectively fulfill the mission of ACH Child and Family Services. This position will successfully uphold and foster partnerships with community-based providers, administrative staff, clinical teams, and foster parents. Independent judgment is essential for planning, prioritizing, and organizing a diverse workload.

Working Conditions: The role may require occasional weekend and evening work as necessary. Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population is crucial.

Confidentiality: The Engagement Specialist must uphold confidentiality and adhere to policies regarding personnel and client records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and advocate for ACH Child and Family Services within the community, particularly with partner organizations and foster families.
  • Establish and maintain a schedule to facilitate dialogue, discussions, and problem-solving among interested parties, especially partner organizations.
  • Track and report progress towards goals and other success metrics.
  • Assist in setting annual and quarterly objectives aligned with short-term tactical plans.
  • Provide administrative support to various stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate and support:
    • Projects within ACH Child and Family Services
    • Recruitment initiatives for families
    • Steering Committee
    • Ad Hoc Committees
  • Facilitate recruitment activities with providers and prospective families.
  • Create and disseminate all marketing and related materials and information.
  • Coordinate and support presentations to stakeholders within ACH Child and Family Services.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions with providers related to recruitment and retention activities.
