Position Overview

Role Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Collaborate closely with organizational leadership to design and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with both short-term and long-term business objectives, enhancing the overall efficiency of the organization and the HR department. Oversee HR functions including strategic recruitment, employee relations, talent management, organizational development, compensation strategies, change management, conflict resolution, equal opportunity initiatives, and diversity and inclusion efforts. Proactively assess and address HR-related needs to ensure compliance and reduce risk while fostering employee engagement and retention through a focus on employee relations, professional development, performance management, and adherence to employment laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CONSULTATION

  • Act as the primary liaison for organizational leadership regarding all HR-related matters and initiatives.
  • Deliver strategic HR consulting and coaching aimed at influencing leadership decisions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business unit's financial health, strategic objectives, culture, and competitive landscape.
  • Drive productivity and performance by utilizing HR analytics to identify business challenges, trends, and necessary adjustments, including key metrics, turnover reasons, and employee relations concerns.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Partner with leadership on organizational strategy, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance evaluation, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Transform organizational needs into actionable plans to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures align with the organization's objectives and leadership vision.

TALENT STRATEGY

  • Design and implement strategic talent management initiatives encompassing workforce planning, recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, employee engagement, training, and succession planning to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Enhance cross-cultural competence among leaders and teams through training support and diversity initiatives, considering the impact of cultural differences on business decisions.
  • Provide insights and guidance on organizational restructuring, workforce planning, and succession strategies to strengthen leadership and management capabilities.
  • Identify and facilitate individual executive coaching requirements.

CHANGE LEADERSHIP

  • Facilitate organizational change by educating and influencing leadership while considering the implications for business objectives.
  • Offer thought leadership on the strategic implementation of HR initiatives, emphasizing the value of these programs.
  • Oversee the execution of HR programs to minimize disruption, collaborating with leaders to communicate and implement changes effectively.

COLLABORATION

  • Work with Centers of Expertise (Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HR Technology, Talent Acquisition, and Development) to ensure the seamless delivery of HR services.
  • Build partnerships across the HR function to provide value-added services to management and employees that reflect the organization's objectives.
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of HR programs to oversee the execution of annual and ad-hoc HR initiatives.
  • This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but may involve coaching or mentoring within the HR department and contributing to company-wide HR strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related business field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years in Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner roles, demonstrating expertise across various HR disciplines, including compensation, organizational analysis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Proven experience in consulting, influencing, and collaborating with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that enhance business performance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong background in employee relations and investigative processes.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions for complex challenges.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse workloads and high-pressure situations.
  • Strong influencing abilities and experience navigating complex organizational structures with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with HR/Payroll systems such as Oracle, Workday, or SAP.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for business purposes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) certification.
  • Experience in specialized HR areas such as Employee Relations, Talent Management, Recruitment, or Compensation and Benefits.
  • Experience in developing HR strategic initiatives aligned with business goals and budgets.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft systems.
