Financial Reporting Associate

Candidates are expected to fulfill the following responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
Under the supervision of the Cash Forecasting and Reconciliations Section manager, the Junior Financial Accountant engages in critical financial analysis related to the State's comprehensive spending strategy to guarantee adequate cash flow for fulfilling the state's financial commitments.
The role operates at a professional financial accounting level, demonstrating a significant degree of autonomy, and frequently leading other professional financial accounting personnel. The incumbent is tasked with the most intricate financial accounting and cash management responsibilities, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the budgetary standards, practices, and reporting requirements of public finance.
Working ConditionsThe opportunity for hybrid telework is available following the completion of the training period. Free parking is provided.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Understanding of the functions of the State Controller's Office and California State Government
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and standards
- Proficiency in data analysis and making informed recommendations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
