Position Overview:
We are seeking a Rover Operations Technician to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our operations in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise construction and maintenance tasks, ensuring necessary parts are ordered
  • Conduct inspections of gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and associated piping for leaks or irregularities, taking corrective measures as required
  • Access remote sites to monitor wells, maintaining optimal operating levels, pressures, and flow on separation equipment, while adjusting controls as needed
  • Measure tanks for the sale or transfer of condensate, crude oil, and water, ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Prioritize and manage well operations to fulfill contractual obligations related to rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, rod pump units, submersible wells, surface pumping equipment, and test wells
  • Collect and analyze relevant data on the aforementioned equipment, comparing daily variations in both equipment performance and productivity
  • Adjust pumping unit runtime, time clock settings, injection rates, stroke lengths, fluid levels, and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Utilize electronic remote well monitoring systems, SCADA, etc., to enhance production efficiency and minimize safety and environmental risks
  • Maintain chemical injection rates and manage the startup and shutdown of wells
  • Accurately log daily volumes, well tests, downtime, and injection data into a computer database promptly
  • Monitor daily production inputs into electronic data gathering systems, ensuring data accuracy
  • Proactively oversee and optimize production and costs within the designated area
  • Perform minor hands-on repairs on production equipment and generate work notifications/material requests for additional maintenance needs
  • Operate and optimize Artificial Lift Systems, including wellhead compression, capillary strings, plunger lift, foamed injection, gas lifts, and flow case equipment
  • Execute necessary regulatory tasks, inspections, site security measures, and month-end closing procedures
  • Take full responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of assigned wells
  • Be available for on-call duties and respond to alarm notifications
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on lease routes and at facilities
  • Contribute to achieving safety, production, and financial objectives set by both corporate and individual business units

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is essential
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong background in facility operations and basic maintenance, with experience in well operations involving artificial lift systems, particularly Rod pump, ESP, and Gas Lift
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas sector is required
  • Compressor experience is essential
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with SCADA systems are necessary
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • This position is safety-sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing
