Salary: $5,747 - $8,831 ($6,146 - $9,447 PERS)
We are seeking a skilled Fiscal Grant Coordinator to join our Office of Finance and Information Technology at the State of Oregon. This is a permanent position represented by the Fiscal Grant Coordinator classification.
This role is a hybrid of remote work and will need to report to the office when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business.

The Office of Finance and Information Technology's primary service is to provide timely and reliable fiscal, administrative, and information technology services. The work is designed to ensure that all agency services adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, while seeking solutions focused on the needs of Oregon's children. OFIT contributes to an infrastructure that allows ODE staff to focus on the core mission of leadership, accountability, and school improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
As ODE's Fiscal Grant Coordinator, you will serve as the primary coordinator for fiscal matters related to departmental grants. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordination and Reporting: Collaborate with program offices to monitor the status of grants. Produce comprehensive reports on the overall effectiveness of grants, detailing amounts allocated, amounts expended, and impacts achieved.
- Technical Assistance and Compliance: Offer technical assistance and consultation to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Documentation and Guidance: Maintain locally generated tracking spreadsheets and other essential documentation. Provide guidance and oversight to grant analysts and EGMS staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in their work.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Six years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system. Experience must have included modeling and forecasting fiscal information.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting or a related degree (such as Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration or other analytical or technical degree) may substitute for three years of the required experience.
- A graduate-level degree in any of the above areas may substitute for four of the six years.
Desired Attributes:
We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and GASB principles, as well as federal, state, and local financial regulations relevant to public agencies.
- Extensive experience in grant development and management, including the ability to effectively develop and oversee grants.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in conflict resolution and mentoring.
- In-depth understanding of accounting, finance, legal, and forecasting processes as they relate to public agencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general business, finance, accounting, and governmental funding principles.
- Ability to develop complex reports and analyses using databases and other tools, organizing information clearly and precisely.
- Proven ability to establish effective working relationships, including the ability to professionally and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve problems efficiently, manage project timing, and work effectively under time constraints.
