Patient Services Representative

Job Summary
Foster a welcoming and respectful experience for patients and families as a Patient Services Representative at the Children\u0027s Hospital of Philadelphia. This role is based at our West Chester Primary Care location.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide efficient support services.
- Perform EPIC software functions, including patient check-in, check-out, demographic and insurance information collection, and daily eligibility verifications.
- Answer and triage phone calls, verify contact information, and document messages.
- Schedule appointments, inform families of delays, and address or escalate complaints.
- Collect and process payments, reimbursements, and insurance referrals.
- Provide updates during shifts and team meetings.
- Maintain patient records while following HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Rotate shifts if needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED.
- At least one year of experience in a role that consisted of health care support services, registration, physician billing, medical records, medical office work, and/or customer service.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
