Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Spaulding Hospital-Boston & Cambridge(SRN,SRH,SHC). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and performing all activities associated with the outpatient registration service and scheduling of outpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
  • Coordinate the complete demographic and insurance intake, computerized registration, and scheduling of patients, verifying insurance coverage and ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Support front office staff in answering phones, assisting patients, and fulfilling cross-trained responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process patient pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling in accordance with center standards.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including answering phones, confirming appointments, and supporting insurance requirements processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
Requirements
  • High school graduate required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical/physician's office setting and/or experience with insurance benefits preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft Office applications and EPIC (EHR) proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Responsibilities for an Advanced Patient Service Representative
  • Complete annual requirements of completing 6 initiatives as described in the administrative ladder application.
