Position Overview

This role is designed to support the ongoing initiatives within the children's ministry. The responsibilities outlined below serve as examples of the various tasks that may be undertaken. The absence of specific duties does not preclude their inclusion if they are similar, related, or logically associated with this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Minister to strategize and organize various ministry events.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process for new volunteers and manages volunteer scheduling across different functions.
  • Engages in follow-up communication with visitors, new members, and those participating in Baptism.
  • Maintains and organizes all attendance records related to the ministry, including information on visitors and new members.
  • Assists the Minister in the planning and execution of significant ministry events such as Vacation Bible School, Camps, and Family Nights.
  • Collects and inputs data into various systems for the planning and registration of all ministry activities.
  • Coordinates with other departments (Communications, Missions, Finance, Properties, and Services) to ensure accurate information and preparation for setup, advertising, and registration.
  • Handles financial documentation including check requests, deposits, and credit card transactions.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite applications: Word, Excel, Publisher.
  • Orders necessary supplies as required.
  • Operates church-related software programs: Mazevo, Touchpoint, Nexonia.

Sunday Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and distributes materials for classrooms on Sunday mornings.
  • Welcomes and directs parents and volunteers during Sunday services.
  • Assists in various capacities as needed on Sunday mornings.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of administrative experience; experience in a church or non-profit setting is advantageous.
  • Proficient administrative and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to learn new platforms, systems, and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and skill sets.
  • Availability to attend all events, including Sunday services, to provide assistance.
