About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Children's Health. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting the principal investigator in the conduct of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the protocol and accuracy of data collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, evaluate, and follow patient participation in clinical trials, including identifying, enrolling, and consenting patients, organizing study visits and follow-ups, and responding to patient telephone calls and other related matters.
  • Perform protocol-specific clinical tasks, including patient assessment, medication administration, screening, ordering tests, collecting specimens, and monitoring responses.
  • Provide initial and ongoing education to patients/family and clinical staff on protocol requirements.
  • Serve as a patient advocate to ensure understanding and protect patients' wellbeing, health, and safety.
  • Monitor/assess patient for adverse events and report to principal investigator, sponsor, and regulatory authorities (e.g., IRB, FDA, etc.).
  • Ensure Patient Health Information (PHI) is always protected and secured.
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the protocol is executed as specified.
  • Perform and ensure completeness of all data collection/documentation.
  • Identify concerns and communicate to principal investigator and supervisor and escalate as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation and study files.
  • Perform quality assurance and audits.
  • Perform research billing review.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, clinic, or similar healthcare setting required.
  • At least 1 year clinical trials experience preferred.
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience BS, BSN required.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
  • PACES certification within 6 months of hire required.
