Advanced Occupational Therapist for Children's Health

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our Acute Care team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service line.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to patients in accordance with standards of practice, demonstrating progression of treatment plans and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of the healthcare team relative to patient treatment and progress, as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning.
- Coordinate and prioritize your schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new staff therapists, students, and rehabilitation aides, training in advanced and/or specialized treatment tools and techniques.
- Support leadership and department initiatives, demonstrating active participation in department quality assessment and improvement strategies.
- Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies, attending and participating in departmental meetings, in-services, rounds, and peer reviews.
- At least 3 years of previous Occupational Therapy experience required.
- Acute care experience within a hospital setting preferred.
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience preferred.
- License to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas required.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course through the American Heart Association required.
