Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Grants Administrator to join our team. As a Grants Administrator, you will be responsible for the preparation, submission, and management of extramural grants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and students to prepare research grants and fellowship applications to various funding agencies, including the NIH, other federal and state agencies, public and private organizations, and foundations.
  • Direct grant approvals through the system and ensure timely electronic transmissions and manual submissions to grant-awarding agencies.
  • Track grant deadlines and progress report due dates, and maintain detailed reports on active, submitted, and pending grants.
  • Audit monthly ledgers to determine accuracy and monitor spending activities.
  • Maintain lists of animal research protocols, environmental health and safety forms, and other relevant documents.
  • Monitor and disseminate information concerning guidelines and regulations for grant applications, including eligibility, use of human subjects, animals, and changes in forms.
  • Work closely with the Department Administrator to ensure customer service and smooth flow of financial data and post-award information.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Research Finance, Office of Grant Support, IACUC, EH&S, and IRB.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of prior experience in the pre- and/or post-award function, specifically with the NIH.
  • Experience in grant and contract financial management in a research environment is strongly preferred.
