The Fundraising Leader plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's financial success. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual collaborates closely with the Director of Volunteers and Community Engagement Director to spearhead all fundraising initiatives.
Job Responsibilities- Strategic Planning & Execution (40%): Provide visionary leadership for individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation support, special events, and grant writing. Collaborate with the CEO to develop strategic fundraising approaches that align with the organization's mission and values. Create and implement a comprehensive annual plan to achieve revenue targets, analyzing progress quarterly and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Relationship Cultivation (30%): Identify, cultivate, and solicit a diverse range of donors across New York City, employing tailored stewardship strategies to expand Riverdale Y's donor base. Lead and inform the Board of Directors on fundraising strategy, activities, achievements, and significant donations. Oversee content development for all donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, direct appeals, and solicitation materials. Represent Riverdale Y at events, both internally and externally, fostering strong relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, and key stakeholders.
- Grant Writing & Proposals (20%): Secure both private and public funding through grant applications, collaborating with relevant team members to ensure successful submissions. Manage the reporting process for all grants, demonstrating responsible stewardship of funds and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration (10%): Foster a collaborative and supportive fundraising environment. Provide guidance and mentorship to staff involved in fundraising activities. Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends in the nonprofit sector.
A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in Nonprofit Management or Business Administration preferred. Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, and relationship management within a nonprofit setting is essential. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial for success in this role.
