Position Overview:
In this role, you will work collaboratively to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Your responsibilities will encompass policy formulation, program development, staff supervision, and service delivery oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be accountable for establishing and enforcing clinical policies, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and adhering to all relevant regulations and contracts.

Compensation and Benefits:
Annual salary range: $216,000 - $289,200.

What You Will Do:
Maintain awareness of changes in regulations and clinical practices in mental health and substance use treatment. You will identify impacts and opportunities for the CCBHC, utilizing insights to enhance program development.

Collaborate with clinical leaders to establish clinical policies and standards aligned with evidence-based practices. Oversee the development and revision of policies and procedures, ensuring incorporation of best practices and compliance with regulatory and grant requirements.

Manage the provision of all medical services, ensuring adherence to applicable standards. Establish partnerships with specialty pharmacies for the administration of injectable medications.

Performance Management:
Work with other leaders to define key performance indicators across clinical outcomes, participant satisfaction, compliance, and financial metrics. Assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate on implementing necessary changes.

Assist in building referral and linkage relationships with other institutions and agencies. Participate in relevant industry associations and represent VNS Health externally.

Support grant and licensing applications and reports. Prepare for and lead medical participation in internal and external audits.

Partner with nursing leadership to recruit and supervise nurse practitioners (prescribers). Ensure that client records and program data are accurately maintained and that participant information is shared only with appropriate authorization.

Engage in organizational committees as assigned, such as incident review and compliance. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed physician in New York State required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry required
- Board certified in addiction medicine/addiction psychiatry within four years of assuming the role
- DEA registration required

Education:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution required
- Completion of a residency program in psychiatry required

Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in medical psychiatry required
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder and medication for addiction treatment required
- Knowledge of pharmaceuticals for treating diseases and illnesses, including mechanisms of action, side effects, toxicity, and drug interactions required
- Strong business acumen and decision-making skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Proficiency in using electronic systems for clinical record-keeping required
- Experience in adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry preferred
- Experience in adult and adolescent addiction treatment preferred.
