Job Overview

This position involves significant contributions to the conceptualization and development of innovative products, solutions, and systems. Responsibilities include enhancing the technical aspects of existing products and components, impacting departmental operations, and overseeing planning and execution. While the role allows for some independence, it primarily focuses on the implementation of tasks within established operational guidelines and procedures. Some decision-making may be necessary, typically with oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Oversee laboratory and field validation testing, inspections, and data collection to support the design and validation of products and services, generally not requiring an engineering degree.
    - Design and construct testing facilities, rigs, instrumentation systems, and develop associated testing software.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge in a specific technical field, leveraging prior experience and technical expertise to implement policies and strategies.
  • Possess a deep understanding of essential business drivers, utilizing this insight to achieve personal objectives. Recognize how the work of your team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall goals.
  • Exercise sound judgment and propose alternative solutions within defined parameters, guided by previous experience and on-the-job training to tackle straightforward tasks. Access necessary technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve issues, potentially consulting multiple internal sources beyond your team to make informed decisions.
  • This role is likely to be filled by an individual contributor with strong interpersonal skills or an emerging leader capable of hiring and nurturing talent. Provide informal mentorship to new team members.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering.
Preferred Attributes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
  • Established skills in project management.
