Job Overview

The Senior Cost Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing, communicating, and enhancing the overall cost structure for the C&SC division and its associated facilities. This position involves close collaboration with various teams, including Manufacturing Engineers, Design, and Engine Programs, to pinpoint and implement initiatives aimed at cost reduction. Additionally, the specialist will be tasked with compiling and presenting cost commitments for new product introduction (NPI) tollgate audits, as well as formulating should-cost methodologies. Interaction with Sourcing and Engine Program personnel will be essential to monitor and report on supplier costs and material impacts across all C&SC sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the KPI owner for C&SC Cost Productivity.
  • Collaborate with site finance and cost focal points to identify and implement cost productivity initiatives across C&SC facilities.
  • Establish and execute standard work processes, operating rhythms, and escalation procedures to support cost productivity project execution.
  • Lead efforts to create and resource a multi-year project pipeline.
  • Engage with external resources (e.g., Design, Sourcing, Engine Programs) to expedite cost productivity initiatives.
  • Educate and mentor manufacturing engineers and production teams on productivity principles.
  • Facilitate collaboration across sites to share successful cost strategies and lessons learned.
  • Apply lean principles and participate in kaizen events to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost management.
  • Coordinate with Engine Program cost focal points to communicate drivers, opportunities, status updates, and forecasts.
  • Develop methodologies and strategies for tool development related to cost analysis.
  • Contribute to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Lean Kaizen events, providing insights to mitigate cost productivity risks.
  • Identify internal and external process challenges and recommend best practices for product and process improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements and complexity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, engineering, or program/project management roles.

  • Strong project management and facilitation capabilities.
  • Understanding of process capability and statistical methods.
