Overview

This position is ideal for an experienced Splunk Systems Engineer eager to contribute to a team committed to delivering essential technical support to the U.S. Federal Government. The focus is on providing rapid-response solutions in a post-9/11 landscape.

As a Splunk Systems Engineer, you will be integrated into the IT Operations Team, responsible for supporting a new government initiative. Your duties will include ensuring system performance, developing dashboards, and providing IT assistance across various departments.

A significant part of your role will involve utilizing Splunk for log management and working closely with the security team to adhere to security protocols. The perfect candidate will possess experience operating Splunk in a virtualized setting, along with a robust background in enterprise security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing Splunk ES correlation searches
  • Configuring Splunk servers
  • Creating visualizations and writing complex search queries
  • Maintaining Splunk cluster administration
  • Managing large-scale deployments
Essential Skills:
  • 5+ years as a Splunk Administrator
  • Experience in clustered Splunk environments and enterprise security
  • Knowledge of Linux Administration
  • Preferred: Splunk Certified Administrator/Architect
Additional Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with SPLUNK in IT Operations, DevOps, and network security
  • Experience in rule creation and data integration across multivendor environments
  • Strong skills in regular expressions and scripting
  • Proficiency in security tools and log management
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and multitasking skills
  • Documentation and maintenance of Splunk architecture
  • Collaboration with application and infrastructure teams
Daily Activities:

4) Providing infrastructure support and configuring alerts
