Position Overview

As a Real Estate Financial Analyst, you will engage in a comprehensive range of accounting activities that involve meticulous financial analysis and the examination of various accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting Functions: Execute a variety of routine and recurring accounting tasks that include financial assessments and evaluations of multiple accounts.
  • Transaction Review: Scrutinize, process, collect, and assemble accounting transactions and documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Reconciliation and Analysis: Conduct thorough reconciliations, closure processes, and critical analyses. Identify, prioritize, and resolve financial discrepancies that may encompass multiple areas; uncover underlying issues; recognize exceptions; and propose viable solutions.
  • General Ledger Oversight: Review and perform periodic assessments of complex general ledger account balances and transactions for reasonableness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Support for Real Estate Accounting: Provide backup for the Real Estate Accounting team, particularly during month-end close responsibilities. Assist the Real Estate Accounting group with monthly tasks as required.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Assist in fulfilling ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, with a preference for experience in Yardi and Oracle.
  • Additional Duties: Other responsibilities may also be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Higher Education.
  • Proficiency in Yardi and Oracle.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Real Estate Investment Accounting.
  • Strong skills in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Extensive experience in reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger management, and month-end closing processes.
