Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Business Development Specialist to act as the primary point of contact between federal stakeholders, contract personnel, and our internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of leadership and program management expertise, complemented by substantial business development experience. This role is crucial for propelling the company's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities through customer engagement, service differentiation, and strategic contract solutions.
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential clients and assess competitive landscape.
- Formulate and execute strategies to attract new clients through networking and outreach initiatives.
- Establish and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients, ensuring effective communication and trust.
- Prepare tailored white papers, presentations, and proposals that illustrate the benefits of our services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to enhance company visibility and promote our capabilities.
- Engage in negotiations with potential clients to finalize contracts and secure business agreements.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives, making adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment of business development efforts with the company's strategic goals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for executive management, highlighting progress and opportunities in business development.
- Manage project plans, resource allocation, and contract management to ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Communicate with clients to conduct thorough needs assessments and provide strategic recommendations for improvements.
- Oversee processes and procedures to meet government contract objectives while minimizing risks.
- Support project teams in executing and monitoring project activities.
- Provide regular updates on client and corporate matters during operational meetings.
- Conduct program management reviews to evaluate ongoing projects and align them with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CPCM, PMP) are advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, program management, or a related field within the federal contracting sector.
- Proficient in contract management software and project management methodologies.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen to address challenges proactively.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to foster professional relationships while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Comprehensive understanding of contract management principles and experience overseeing the contract lifecycle.
- Proficient in assessing needs, prioritizing tasks, and developing strategic plans.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across various agencies.
