About the Role

The selected candidate will play a key role in the Effector Subsystems Products Development Department as a Prototype Planner II. This individual will work closely with multiple organizations and roles to manage the logistics for developmental engineering electrical and mechanical hardware builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and associated documentation to generate manufacturing work methodologies and/or instructions.
  • Review quality requirements to ensure compliance and generate bill of material documentation for as-built configuration.
  • Produce illustrations and capture associated documentation for engineering hardware.
  • Ensure quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met for engineering hardware.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform BOM analysis, component purchase, and generate material status reports.
  • Request components from engineering stores and identify/disposition quality discrepancies and non-conformances.
  • Utilize various tools including SAP, Common PDM, MatTrak, and FIORI.
  • Work with peers and multiple functions to plan and manage kitting requests.
  • Develop inventory control to avoid delayed schedules.
  • Assist in processing program requests and shipments according to established schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on engineering objectives, strategies, and support activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete kitting requests on-time and within program requirements.
  • Communicate updates to Managers and customers on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and hierarchy definition to create work instructions.
  • Experience with quoting and interfacing with suppliers.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM for material procurement and material movement.
  • Working knowledge of Excel including such functions as filters, V-Lookup, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools including, but not limited to, EDM & cPDM.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and maintain ongoing status with multiple stakeholders.
