About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Prototype Test Staff Technician to join our Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies and verify compliance to workmanship standards.
  • Rely on moderate experience to interpret drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and specifications.
  • Adapt methods and procedures to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new hardware.
  • Apply semi-advanced skills to test moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies.
  • Assist in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications in development of producible prototypes.
  • Assess moderately complex designs to ensure producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability.
  • Document and communicate test discrepancies and workmanship concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements.
Requirements
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with minimum of six (6) years of prior experience, or a HS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience.
  • Experience in an engineering environment testing electrical assemblies in three or more of the following areas: cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes, chassis, circuit card modifications, and racked electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills & effective interpersonal skills in order to develop rapport and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues.
  • Military electronics or avionics training.
  • J-STD-001 Solder certification.
  • IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and fabrication or test experience.
