We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Prototype Test Staff Technician to join our Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for testing and verifying the electrical assemblies of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Test and verify the electrical assemblies of our products, including cables, wire harnesses, breakout boxes, chassis, and circuit card modifications.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams to bring design concepts to fruition, providing rapid engineering, fabrication, and prototyping solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Assist in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications in development of producible prototypes.
- Document and communicate test discrepancies and workmanship concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements.
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with minimum of six (6) years of prior experience, or a HS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience.
- Experience in an engineering environment testing electrical assemblies in three or more of the following areas: cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes, chassis, circuit card modifications, and racked electronic equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills & effective interpersonal skills in order to develop rapport and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues.
- Military electronics or avionics training.
- J-STD-001 Solder certification.
- IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and fabrication or test experience.
