Job Overview

Position Summary: This role operates under broad strategic guidance, allowing for independent decision-making and initiative. The primary responsibility is to provide leadership, direction, and professional oversight in the medical diagnosis and treatment of patients at miCare Health Centers.


Location:

  • miCare Health Center locations across designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Oversight:

  • Oversee the establishment and assessment of medical care standards across miCare operations.
  • Offer medical guidance to mid-level providers and support staff, advising on medical policy as needed.
  • Supervise daily activities of mid-level providers and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Review monthly medical documentation.
  • Conduct compliance reviews regarding care delivery and education.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with health agencies and professional organizations to ensure compliance with medical standards.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Utilize evidence-based practices to perform comprehensive medical evaluations, considering various physiological and psychological factors.
  • Formulate treatment plans and administer specialized medical procedures, including appropriate prescriptions.
  • Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic assessments.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with patients.
  • Plan and oversee the work of clinic staff.
  • Facilitate effective communication among the miCare team and patients to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document patient care as required.

Operational Duties:

  • Present services to potential and existing clients.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for medical providers.
  • Develop and manage medication formularies.
  • Evaluate clinic facilities and recommend designs to enhance patient care.
  • Analyze data for clinic proposals.
  • Coordinate clinic scheduling and operations.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Exemplify core values in customer service delivery.
  • Provide thorough follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately.

Quality Assurance Initiatives:

  • Participate in committees and teams focused on quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and report trends that deviate from quality standards.
  • Engage in self-monitoring to achieve quality goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance quality performance.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve processes.
  • Develop and refine internal procedures to boost quality.
  • Train new staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant state.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern medical practices, human anatomy, medical terminology, and ethical standards.
  • Board Certification in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Strong typing and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with regulations.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily office-based with moderate noise levels. Physical activities may include lifting up to 25 pounds and various movements. The role involves significant time spent sitting and using a keyboard, along with regular communication.
