Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Patient Services Representative is a vital member of our team at Family Health Source Medical Centers. This role is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure a seamless experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients via phone and patient portal to address their concerns and provide necessary information.
  • Verify patient information for accuracy and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Schedule appointments and testing/referrals according to our policies and procedures.
  • Confirm appointments and perform insurance eligibility verification as needed.
  • Receive and direct patient inquiries to the appropriate party.
  • Assist patients with completing medical information forms and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Document phone calls/conversations with patient records according to our policy.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in maintaining medical records and office equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on policies, procedures, and industry developments.
  • Adhere to our Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of medical office or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent patient care.

Working Conditions:

The Patient Services Representative will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, interacting with patients, staff, and external partners. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
