Position Overview:

Job Title: Guest Experience Event Team Associate

Employment Type: Part-Time (20+ hours)

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Guest Services

Reports to: Guest Experience Manager

Compensation: $20.76 per hour

Role Summary:

The Guest Experience Event Team Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all visitors and members. This role involves managing admission processes, greeting guests at various venues, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for inquiries. Associates will act as ambassadors, aiming to enhance the visitor experience. Responsibilities will take place in diverse settings, including entrance areas and during special events, with a requirement for evening and weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a minimum of 8 hours of work each month to stay updated on systems and exhibitions, with flexibility for school schedules.
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Support the Guest Services Team during peak periods and special exhibitions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service at various Guest Service locations, including outdoor venues.
  • Engage directly with guests to process admissions, manage memberships, and address inquiries.
  • Communicate information regarding current and upcoming exhibitions, events, and amenities.
  • Become proficient in relevant software and ticketing systems.
  • Conduct transactions accurately and efficiently for admissions and memberships.
  • Assist guests in selecting visit options and provide tailored solutions.
  • Stay informed about institutional offerings and policies.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
  • Collaborate with the Guest Services Leadership Team to resolve service issues.
  • Maintain organized and well-stocked service areas.
  • Assist with tasks during special events and previews as needed.
Additional Duties:
  • Attend necessary staff meetings and communicate effectively.
  • Arrive punctually in a clean, approved uniform, prepared for each shift.
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a focus on visitor-centered service.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to remain patient and flexible while providing excellent service.
  • Strong multitasking skills and good judgment.
  • Basic computer skills and math proficiency.
Work Environment:

The role requires effective communication and the ability to work on a computer for extended periods. Evening and weekend shifts are mandatory. The majority of work will occur in a museum lobby environment with a generally low to moderate noise level.
