Reports to: Guest Experience Manager

Compensation Range: $20.76

Position Summary:

The Visitor Engagement Event Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional service to all visitors and members. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including admission and membership activities, welcoming guests at events, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for inquiries. Associates will act as ambassadors, striving to enhance the visitor experience. Responsibilities will be carried out at multiple locations, including entrance areas and special event venues. This position requires availability for evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain active engagement by working a minimum of 8 hours monthly to stay updated on systems and exhibitions.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Support the Guest Services Team during peak periods and special events.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to members, guests, and colleagues at various service points.
  • Interact with visitors to process admissions, handle membership transactions, and address inquiries.
  • Provide information about current and upcoming exhibitions, events, and amenities.
  • Become proficient in relevant software and ticketing systems.
  • Conduct transactions accurately at Guest Services locations.
  • Assist guests in selecting suitable visit and ticket options.
  • Stay informed about institutional offerings and policies.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and maintain organized service areas.
  • Assist with special event tasks as required.
Additional Duties:
  • Participate in staff meetings and communicate effectively regarding operational concerns.
  • Arrive punctually and in appropriate uniform for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for contributing to a visitor-focused environment.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to remain patient and adaptable while delivering excellent service.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with sound judgment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and math skills.
Work Experience:
  • At least 6 months of experience in customer service or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with cash register systems and cash handling preferred.
