Job Title: Controls Service Technician

Job Summary:

Havtech LLC is seeking a skilled Controls Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles and practices to complete assigned service calls, preventive maintenance, and repair work.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Design and program systems utilizing direct digital controls and automation systems for comfort control and energy savings.
  • Configure programs, graphics, and alarms for site-specific control systems.
  • Maintain customer building BAS systems through preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections.
  • Provide project team with technical direction and assist with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test, and startup as required.
  • Utilize various hand tools and test equipment and maintain tools and equipment for proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage time and job needs across multiple projects.
  • Serve as a direct customer contact, provide training, and sustain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communicating with staff, and providing customer feedback.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience in control/mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, and engineering drawing tools.
  • Computer programming experience is required.
  • Familiarity with new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service project management concepts.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems and managing subcontractors.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in using Project Management Tools.
  • Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls.
  • Alerton Controls and Tridium Niagara N4 experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Customer service oriented, able to interact with and build a good rapport with customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and team members individually or in a group setting.

Work Environment:

This position requires working at construction sites, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and in possible extreme weather conditions.
