Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controls Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for garnering controls revenue and achieving margin goals by supporting our mission to deliver exceptional customer service through the sale and execution of projects involving HVAC equipment, building automation systems, and mechanical services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC and automation solutions and be able to identify and sell solutions that help clients achieve their environmental, operational, financial, and people goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect and develop relationships with new clients to identify sales opportunities.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Havtech's offerings and utilize account management processes to target customers.
  • Develop and implement specific action plans to improve project closure rates and produce profitable business.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective clients and convert leads into opportunities.
  • Work effectively in a team selling environment and lead or support coordinated sales efforts involving multiple Havtech sales groups.
  • Collect and communicate project information to operations to create quality project estimates.
  • Coordinate and attend site reviews as required.
  • Determine recommended selling strategies and initial pricing.
  • Present proposals and negotiate price and contract terms and conditions with customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current local utility incentive programs and leverage rebates to improve project closure rates and margins.
  • Follow up with buying influences to secure orders.
  • Coordinate or engage in project execution as required.
  • Resolve deviations in scope with clients to preserve client experience and satisfaction.
  • Consistently ascertain customer needs and current market opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical or business-related field, MBA preferred.
  • Five years of experience in BAS Sales, Engineering, or Marketing.
  • CEM, LEED AP, PE accreditations or certificates preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within a defined region at least 20% of the time.
  • Ability to function independently and deliver results.
